Beautiful, powerful and well connected, the RAZR2 Motorola V9 is the famous friend you’ve always wanted.

The RAZR2 is breathtaking to behold. It is made of a combination of glossy metal, plastic and glass and feels very solid and well built. It is a little heavy, but that just reinforces the fact that you have a real machine in your hands. The keypad and controls are flat and supremely responsive. They are also well laid out with several short cut keys and a five-way navigational pad.

The displays of the RAZR2 Motorola V9 are somewhat of a revolution. The external display is a whopping 2 inches, is bright and has touch screen capabilities. This is made excellent use of when the media player is turned on, as music controls appear at the bottom of the screen. They are very responsive and take the RAZR2 into a whole new realm of multimedia capabilities. The internal display is also a joy to view; bright and crisp and a spectacular 2.2 inches.

Motorola’s traditional user interface remains with the RAZR2 and will be familiar to Motorola fans. There is no keystroke lag at all and menu design is fairly straightforward, although considering the beauty of the handset the interface could be more developed.

Something that is developed in the RAZR2 is Motorola’s CrystalTalk technology. This function automatically adjusts call audio to account for background noise and changes to match the ambient volume. This allows the Motorola RAZR2 V9 to deliver superior voice quality.

Other features include a 2 megapixel camera with 8x digital zoom which is located on the front of the handset, making it great for video calls. Unfortunately though there is no flash. There is a media player included which plays a wide range of file formats and boasts spatial audio and bass boost settings. The RAZR2 V9 also comes with 45MB of built-in memory and microSD card slot. Motorola has thrown in a 512MB microSD card in the sales package, and microSD cards can come much larger, so you can store plenty of your tracks and photos.

Another great element of the RAZR2 is its connectivity. The V9 is 3G capable and also comes equipped with boasts HSDPA, Bluetooth 2.0 (with the A2DP profile for wireless audio streaming) and USB 2.0, which brilliantly means you can use it as a USB mass storage device using the supplied cable.
