What makes an iPhone plan an iPhone plan?

iPhone plans are specifically designed for iPhones. They include a large amount of data (as smartphones tend to consume more), and if you go on a 12 or 24-month contract, you can receive a new iPhone as part of the offer (although there may be a mobile repayment option on top of the monthly plan cost).

Essentially, an iPhone plan is the same as any large data plan, so don’t stress if your preferred plan provider doesn’t list a plan that is plastered with iPhone all over the title. However, if you need a new handset on an iPhone plan, your choice is between the iPhone and the iPhone.

When choosing a plan for your smartphone, ensure there is at least 100MB of data included (this would be considered fairly light usage, or for those users who most often connect to the internet via Wi-Fi - Wi-Fi doesn’t use up your included data). There are regular plans available from mobile plan providers that either have data included in the plan, or they can offer you a browsing pack for an additional monthly cost.

If you already have an iPhone and you’re deciding on a new plan, make sure you choose an iPhone plan from our website that includes a minimum of 100mb. If you’re a super-heavy user, click on the link called ‘Data junkie’ to find the most suitable options.

Who offers iPhone plans?

Virgin Mobile and Vodafone offer plans specifically designed for the iPhone, but again any data plan should suffice.

Virgin Mobile $70 iPhone Plan:

This plan will give you $540 of included credit and 1GB of data.

Virgin Mobile $100 iPhone Plan:
The $100 iPhone Plan also has $540 of included credit, and a whopping 5GB of data. Beware! This plan is for data enthusiasts only!

Virgin Mobile iPhone Rollover Cap Plans stand out from other caps because your unused  talk and text credit rolls over to the following month. If you make a lot of international calls and text, Virgin Mobile’s plans are some of the only ones around that include these services in your monthly cap allowance.

Vodafone has several iPhone plans:

Vodafone $49 iPhone Cap:

This plan has $350 of included monthly credit along with 50MB of data (light data users take note!)

Vodafone $69 iPhone Cap: (also available on a 12 month contract)
This plan includes $450 of included call credit and a very decent 500MB of data.

Vodafone $79 iPhone Cap: (also available on a 12 month contract)
This plan has $550 of included monthly credit along with 1GB of data.

Vodafone $99 iPhone Cap:
This is an unlimited cap with 1.5GB of data.

Vodafone $129 iPhone Cap:
This is an unlimited cap with a very large 4GB of data per month.

Again, these plans are the same as other Vodafone data plans (unless you have a BlackBerry phone, in which case you can receive unlimited downloads).
