If you’re a fashion-conscious buyer looking for a well-designed, slim and easy-to-use candy bar phone, the Nokia 5000 is for you. Call quality is good and it comes equipped with most of the features you’d expect from this reliable Finnish provider.

The Nokia 5000 is finished with a middling gloss black face flanked by two coloured side panels, with a metallic grey finish on the sides. This unique look might not be to everyone's taste, but it is certainly going to turn heads.

As well as being eye candy, the Nokia 5000 is an ergonomically comfortable phone, lightweight, and easy to use. The keypad is a bit on the small side but provides good tactility with a nice and shiny finish. A five way navigational pad is present so you can scroll through options easily.

As with many other Nokias, the 5000 employs the Series 40 user interface. This trusty interface is responsive and intuitive although it can be a bit exhausting scrolling through long lists.

Features of the Nokia 5000 are pretty good considering this is an entry level phone. There is a 1.3 megapixel camera for taking shots on the go, and an FM radio for keeping up to date. The Nokia also comes with a pre-loaded music player, although there is not a lot of internal storage so you will have to choose your tunes well.  Bluetooth capability is also present for transferring files and accessories. It is not Bluetooth A2DP though so you won't be able to stream music or the radio to a wireless headphone.  Personal Information Management (PIM) functions round out the Nokia 5000 package and include a calculator, a converter, a stopwatch, calendar and to do list.
