The Nokia 6710 Navigator is a superior communication tool which is supremely built and provides terrific navigation features.

Build quality of the 6710 Navigator is the first thing that has to be discussed because it is simply excellent.  This handset is a slider, and while other slide models can feel cheap and plastic, the 6710 Navigator is ergonomic and smooth. The keys on the keypad are well placed and provide good responsiveness. The layout and position of the other controls, such as the five-way navigational pad is exemplary.

One other great feature unique to the 6710 Navigator is a touch sensitive zoom bar located below the display screen. This great little design feature allows you to zoom in and out of maps and websites, on subjects for photos as well as scroll through the media gallery with a slide of your thumb. This bar makes the Nokia handset a joy to use and gives it the edge, particularly when it comes to navigation.

Navigation is, as the name suggests, this Nokia handset’s bread and butter. While the screen is a tiny bit smaller than dedicated GPS devices, the 6710 Navigator does a great job of telling you where you are and where you need to go.
It is quick to find and keep a GPS signal and there is little to no lag while using, even in a car.  The 6710 Navigator also comes with a permanent subscription to complete turn-by-turn navigation so you will never be lost. The very responsive GPS chip in the 6710 Navigator is more than up to the challenge of turn-by-turn navigation, something that other GPS phones struggle to keep up with on occasion.  Nokia had also thrown in a sturdy window mount that allows you to slide open the phone when it is being held.

Connectivity-wise the Nokia 6710 Navigator has you covered with HSDPA-capability, Bluetooth with A2DP, Wi-Fi and USB connection via a micro-USB port. This micro-USB port can’t be used to charge the Nokia however; the old proprietary connection is still required.

Other features include a high quality 5-megapixel camera with a Carl Zeiss branded lens. The lens is not covered unfortunately, but the camera does come with an LED flash and takes nice photos for a camera phone.  The Nokia 6710 Navigator also has a 3.5mm headphone jack, an FM radio and a nice set of multimedia software. There is also a microSD card slot hidden in the 6710 Navigator, and Nokia has included a 2GB microSD card in the sales package so you can store and access more tunes.
